I offer Personal Training to women of all ages and stages. I am not the personal trainer that will just throw out exercises that looks good. My exercise programming is based on understanding the science behind weight loss and strength training as well as hormonal changes that can influence fitness outcomes. Fitness training begins by working from the inside out beginning with the core.
Training can be done in your home setting, online or in a gym setting. Please call for more information.
Pregnancy and childbirth is like preparing for the biggest marathon of your life! With my specialty working with the perinatal population, it is important that exercise programming is appropriate for the pregnant population due to the physiological changes occurring in her body. A personal trainer who trains this population without the knowledge of hormonal and physical changes as well as possible complications that can arise with pregnancy, would be doing a disservice to this population. For expecting mamas out there who would like to continue or begin a fitness regiment or include strength training to their fitness routine, I use an evidenced based performance training approach, to help prepare and strengthen the body during pregnancy, prepare for birth and labor, recover faster post partum and prepare you for motherhood. Fitness during pregnancy is designed to improve pelvic floor response, prepare for birth, improve muscular imbalances to help create more space for baby, build strength to manage the changes eliminate pain, prepare the body
Returning to fitness following pregnancy also requires an understanding of how the post- partum body heals, hormonal changes that takes place, the affects of childbirth and nursing on a woman's body, biomechanics, and muscular imbalances. I provide assessments to evaluate women post-partum and provide appropriate exercise progression specific to her needs so she can correct imbalances, eliminate pain, improve diastasis recti, prevent prolapse and build strength beginning with the core and strengthening from the inside out.
