Often, women are told to Kegel to help strengthen their pelvic floor. But most women do not know how to find those muscles or how to activate them for their "kegel workout". And let's face it, Kegel exercises are boring which leaves no motivation to practice these exercises. But many of us women have to do them because of all the changes that occur in our body hormonally, post partum or from simply not having exercised.
This group exercise class is for women all ages and stages. It is focused on balancing and strengthening the pelvic floor and core for improved pelvic floor function as well as overall body strength, stability and mobility. This class is specific for the pelvic floor and teaches you how to strengthen and coordinate the pelvic floor muscles with your core and the rest of your body. This is fundamental to fitness and overall health so you can learn how to activate these muscles correctly so your pelvic floor and core will respond better to your daily activities symptom free... and what better way to do this than a fun group pelvic floor and core exercise class!
This class may be combined with 3 additional optional private occupational therapy sessions at a discounted rate where I can look at your body specifically and teach you other strategies to help with symptoms you may be having. Sessions will include evaluation and biofeedback so you can find those little muscles and learn how to activate them correctly! These additional sessions compliment the work we do in the exercise classes and will enhance your progress!
The style of this class will be on a mat on the floor in a relaxed setting with a combination of therapeutic exercises, breath work, pilates and yoga that is specific for training the pelvic floor and core.
