My name is Sigalleitt (also known as Sigi) and I am the founder of Pelvic Health & Fitness. I graduated with my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. Following over a decade of working in the pediatric field, I decided to pursue another passion of mine -- personal training. I had the privilege to learn from Chris Hitchko in 2017 and became NASM certified and a certified yoga instructor.
As a personal trainer working with women, I saw a real need to understand the changes that occur in a woman's body during pregnancy, after pregnancy and through the various cycles of her life. A year later, I began my own fertility journey that pushed me to go back to my profession as an OT and continue my education in the realm of women's health. I am now a Pelvic Floor Therapist covering various issues in women's health related to bowel and bladder, pelvic pain, sexual function, prolapse, pregnancy and post partum rehabilitation. I also specialized in postpartum corrective exercise and I am a certified Body Ready Method ® pro.
I love working as both an occupational therapist and a personal trainer because I believe these two disciplines complement one another. My goal as a personal trainer is to train women how to exercise right for her body so she can achieve her fitness goals, while, at the same time, take into consideration her cycle, hormonal changes or pelvic floor symptoms she may be trying to resolve. My mission as a pelvic floor therapist is to provide therapy intervention that goes beyond the clinical setting. By incorporating strategies learned in the therapeutic setting and then complementing that with a fitness program, women will then heal faster, continue to progress and strengthen their bodies to return to hobbies, sports. caring for their children, playing with grandchildren or whatever meaningful "occupations" they may have.
This type of "workout" routine is what I believe lends to optimal wellness and fitness and this is how I began my combined practice that I call, Pelvic Health & Fitness.
